ACLS is advance cardiac life support course which is designed to enhance person’s ability to recognize early signs of cardiac arrest and to perform life saving technique. This course is based on previously learned basic skills such as in medical emergency .In this course student work with AHA ACLS instructor who teach and helps in practicing the skills. Students participate in simulated clinical scenario in the course of video and the course is conducted in a highly interactive and dynamic environment with effective team interaction and communication during resuscitation.
Who are the Audience for this course?
This course is for qualified health care providers who are directly or indirectly involve in the intervention of cardiac arrest, stroke and other life threatening medical emergencies .This includes dentist, physicians, doctors, nurses ,paramedics and other emergency responders.
Prerequisites for ACLS Classes
Participants must have the rhythmic interpretation skill, expected to have true proficiency in BLS skill, must be familiar with different types of airway management tool and must have the knowledge of the drug.
For identifying gaps in student’s knowledge, they are expected to complete the self-assessment modules on AHA student website. These gaps can be further remediated by studying the applicable content in the ACLS provider manual.

Format of ACLS Course
This is instructor led and classroom based course. It is taught in large groups and there are small groups of testing and learning stations. The provider course takes 10-12 hours to complete and renewal course take 5-6 hours. The course time is based on the ratio of 6 students to 1 instructor to 1 manikins or 1 station
When you will receive Course Completion Card?
- Pass Bag-Mask Ventilation test
- Pass CPR and AED test
- Demonstrate competency in the entire learning skill test
- Pass Mega code test
- Pass the closed book written exam with minimum 84%
Student who successfully pass ACLS course will receive an AHA ACLS completion card which is valid for two years
What are the different courses options?
There are two options:
- Heart Code ACLS course
- ACLS Experienced Provider course
Heart Code ACLS is a comprehensive, classroom based e-learning programme from American Heart Association. This programme consists of two components. Part 1 is cognitive component that facilitate the student to work through ACLS curriculum at their own pace. Part 2 is hands on skills evaluation session
ACLS Experienced Provider is instructor-led training programme .It is for experienced health care professionals who must respond to the cardiovascular emergencies and especial resuscitation situations in the work place and all those who are suppose to have highest level of training to perform their job. Course length is 9-10 hours.
