What is Game Design

History

The duties of the game designer were separated from a lead designer. Game complexity required more focus on the design rather than the programming. Game veterans chose to follow game designing over programming as that was delegated to others.
Complex games required more game designers, a principal designer along with many junior designers were required for all the subsets. In huge corporations, every aspect of game such as level design, characters etc had a separate producer, lead designer and many junior designers.
